Have played at all player counts (2,3,4 players). The game might lack some dynamic when played at 2-player. The diplomatic and betrayal element is much stronger at higher player counts, which makes the game a lot more exciting.

I recently dove into Arcs with the Leaders and Lore expansion, playing solo two-handed, and I have to say, it’s an incredibly satisfying experience after playing three player. Despite not having a solo design, managing two factions at once really lets me explore the game’s strategic depth without feeling overwhelmed and pressured by other players.

The addition of the Leaders and Lore expansions takes the asymmetry to a whole new level - each faction feels truly unique, with distinct abilities and play styles that keep me thinking several moves ahead. Leaders bring personality and special powers that shape how I approach each faction, while Lore adds meaningful story elements that enrich the world-building. It’s not just about winning; it’s about immersing myself in the factions’ struggles and ambitions.

Visually, the game is a treat. The artwork is absolutely stunning - every card and board detail is beautifully illustrated, drawing me into a sci-fi universe. The wooden pieces are a joy to handle, which add a real sense of weight and presence on the table, making each ship and agent feel important.
