I loved the video game so decided to get the board game and was not disappointed. It played almost exactly to the video game and the feel of holding physical cards to this is so good. It even comes with card sleeves!

Perfect co-op game. Doesn't fall into the trap of one person being able to dictate everyone's moves once they figure out the game (pandemic) but still is a completely collaborative effort. everyone builds their own deck to their characters characters strengths and therefore have unique contributions to the success of the campaign. In a way the balancing is even more fun than the video game because you can rely on other peoples decks to provide what you're character might not be naturally good at and continue to focus on your strengths. So much fun truly feels like a co-operative campaign to slay the spire!
