Dominion 2nd Edition Seaside Expansion

I've got almost everything that can be brought for dominion. I have some hot takes. One of them is that 2 of the sets that people historically like the most are some the I like the least.

Seaside falls into this category. It's got some awesome cards no doubt, but the box itself is fairly unbalanced still.

As you play more and more, being able to be viable with a lot of different cards and win strats becomes the great way to get play out of the boxes. This is one of seasides major flaws. Fishing village, outpost, sea witch and (the worst offender) wharf are so strong that they are needed to be competitive if they are within the 10 kingdom cards.

there are always stronger and weaker cards yes sure, but it's the discrepancy in seaside's power level that's the tough sell. As you play more, it comes more to the surface.

2nd, I consider outpost a problematic card too, extra turn cards I personally feel are unhealthy for the game at large. Some of the event in later boxes are far more balanced by being single use. Outpost is game warping.

A 3rd issue of this box is lack of viable draw cards. It seems small, but having a range of different draw pieces is very important to varied play. It has one of the best of all time in wharf, but that adds to the issue of constricted card selection. (it IS that strong) yes yes I know about monkey. But some more +1s on weaker cards would have gone a long way.

I like this box and it's good for beginners, but I'd always choose the other small box expansions renaissance and hinterlands over it.
