LEVEL UP YOUR GAMING EXPERIENCE
Brass Birmingham is a fantastic game that I just love!! It’s a game that feels rewarding when other people help you on their way to trying to win.
I can’t put my finger on the reason why it’s better than Brass Lancashire but maybe it’s the fact that the ports randomise a bit so that each game is slightly different. I also love the Theme. There is something satisfying about the little barrels of beer that the sailors apparently need otherwise they won’t ship your goods. 😁
Such a wonderful intersection of Mechanics, Theme, and Overall Design. This deluxe edition is such a delight to play with, you can tell that Roxley Games really gave full consideration to the tactile enjoyment of Table Top gaming. In a pleasant departure from the standard ‘nose down over my own puzzle’ style of eurogames Brass: Birmingham forces you to keep a keen eye on your opponents machinations, watching for the right moment to capitalise on you opponents investments for your own ends, or weeping in dismay as they place their cotton mill down in the exact location you needed and then furiously re-strategising. The rule book does take a few reads to fully grasp due to the generous amount of actions one can take on their turn, but, once you start to play you find everything plays naturally, you feel yourself realising “oh, of course that’s how it works” because they’ve conveyed the theme so well. If you have been on the fence about this game at all, I hope this review convinces you to take the plunge and dive head first into the spot covered, beer soaked, wonder that is Brass: Birmingham.
Awesome. Highly recommend this gorgeous economic powerhouse of a game.
