What a great way to spend a couple of nights working through the game. Can your original survivors make it till the end? Will you survive the cold? Who will go hungry and thirsty. This game does a great job of setting the tension and forces you to labor every decision, how far will you push your survivors to achieve the ultimate goal - Survive.
This game is gritty. Confusing. Depressing. Yet rewarding. I have played 8 times solo and still haven't won. The book of scripts provides a narrative of your survivors and their epilogues when they leave. A variety of card decks refer you to various verses (e.g. verse 100) with more instructions. There is no rule book, only a daily journal of activities. You discover rules in the verses as you explore how to survive in a bombed out city. In one game three of my residents went scavenging for food at a grocer. Were attacked by Robbers, one died. Returned back with some foul smelling food. They shared it and died overnight due to food poisoning. The next day the house was shelled because all the after dark activity drew attention of the military. The remaining sole guard on the door was left seriously wounded and without help died the following night due to a home invasion. Horrific. Visceral. It demonstrates the horror of war while making you invest and want to try again to make their lives better, to survive to chapter 3 when the war ceasefire occurs and they go free. Still trying to get there. Highly recommend.
Excellent service. I received my order within a week. Very happy customer.
