On the surface, it seems like a really complex game (especially with all the phases) but once you get the hang of it, its a great exploration game. The game really shines if your group gets into the theme (playing the character and also reading out the thematic text rather than the action).
While it is a co-op game and some of the elements are similar to pandemic (travelling and doing things at location), I haven't experienced alpha player issues with this game - probably because there is so much to do for your own character on its own.
The different Lovecraft bosses definitely need different playing style to win, a lot of games I have played have been very close in just losing or just winning. Its always edge of your seat fun.
If you like little tokens this is the game for you as there are tonnes of it.
Very fun game with great replay value. Hours of entertainment with a very creepy horror vibe. Love the intricacies of the gameplay. Would definately recommend, especially if you're a fan of H.P. Lovecraft.
I'm still relatively new at this whole board game thing, and am loving exploring new titles and new ways of playing, but since buying Eldritch Horror it has skyrocketed to my favourite board games that I own. The permutations in game play are endlessly fascinating for someone of my level of experience and has me truly addicted. Fun to play solo, with two or a bigger group, I highly recommend it!
Postage was super quick, and this game is amazing! I cannot wait to get the expansions!
Such a fantastic game, so much fun - even solo play is fantastic! The rules are pretty simple, though admittedly there is a bit to learn. Only real downside is that it takes a while to set up but then the games last for a long time so it makes it all worthwhile. Highly recommend, stacks of replay even without any of the expansions though I'd recommend getting 'Forsaken Lore' to go with it just to add a little more variety.
