Description

  • Similar style of play as the award-winning original, 7 Wonders
  • Designed specifically for two-player, head-to-head battles
  • Build a civilization that will crush your competition and flourish for centuries

One of the most celebrated games in the world can now be experienced in a two-player arena. 7 Wonders Duel takes the game play and excitement of the original and adapts it for one-on-one battles. Take control of your civilization and decide to invest in science, military or prestige. Two new ways to win will keep you on your toes and watching every move your opponent makes. If you fail to build defenses your capital city may be destroyed, but ignore technology and your people may be left in the dark ages. It's a constant tug of war. 7 Wonders Duel is an exciting new way to play the game that took the world by storm. Great for both fans of the original and those new to the hobby.

Excellent Medium Complexity 2 Player Game

You will have fun your first 2 games but the sweet spot with this game is after about 3 plays.
Strategies will unfold and once you understand the game's inner workings, every move you make feels very important. This is my wife and I's 'go to' game if we want something a little more complex after dinner.
Bonus - There are 2 auto-win strategies that are hard to pull off, but feel amazing if you can do it.

Wonderful 2 Player Game

This game is great, high on strategy, great mechanics to keep the game interesting and enough variation to ensure replayability. There is some luck involved due to card drafting, but a good player will learn to mitigate this with strategy once they become more familiar with the game.

Thematically it is great, the artwork is lovely, the pieces feel really well made.

I won't deny that this game is a bit tough to learn initially. We realised we played it incorrectly twice before finally getting it right. You do need to consult the rule book more than once to understand the rules, but once you do learn it, it's wonderful. There are a few videos on youtube explaining the game thoroughly which we found helpful also.

My husband and I are building our library of good two player games, as it is often just the two of us who play, and this one would make my top 5.
