A nice fun game with a fun theme

We love playing this nice easy game with gorgeous pieces. This game is very thematic, with your lions starting of as babies, then cubs, then lions/lionesses. They work in prides and can breed, attack, sneak past huts, roar to push others back etc. This game has very simple to understand rules - but the more you play - the more you wish the rulebook was a bit thicker and had a few more details as we have had to make a house rule or two. The game is fun by the fact you don't know who has won until after the game is over and you add up the various scoring points. A scoring pad or app would have been handy - but pen and paper work in it's place. The game does have great cards explaining your breed of lion's advantages and disadvantages and the stages of the games and the actions you can take. The game does revolve around a bit of luck with breeding animals and randomly getting male/females, also your mission cards it can just be a good or bad draw of the cards you get. But there is also strategy involved with which actions you take, where you place your meeple huts etc. As an added bonus this board is a map of Africa and about the different countries and has already helped my children with a bit of geography as well! I brought this game on a fantastic sale and for the price I paid - it is a great buy!!
