Have only played a few times so far but love it. Game is different every time and its really fast paced. In my top 2 for sure (Scythe still number 1). Definitely worth buying as a pack just to give you the variety of cards. Works well for 2 player as well.
Definitely recommend buying this one. It may look odd but it's worth buying the 2-in-1 because once you've learnt the base game you'll probably want to give an expansion a go. It's great just having all the cards there in one big box. Of course there's other expansions but this is a great place to start. That said, if you are particular about your board game boxes and don't care about paying extra you might want to buy the core game and expansions separately. If not, this is great value.
My wife and I are fans of deck builders and this is a good classic. We've only played it between the two of us but it works well for two players. I was also impressed at the speed of delivery during Melbourne's Stage 4 lockdown while everything else is delayed. Only problem is, as much as I like this game, I'm apparently terrible at it as I have yet to win a game! Still great fun though.
Includes the base Dominion set, plus the Intrigue expansion and the additional Kingdom cards for 5-6 player games, for a total of around 50 Kingdom cards. The Intrigue set adding 25 cards on top of the base set makes for a lot more variance in the games you can play, without adding any new mechanics that may confuse newer players.
Given these sets separately run for around $200, this box is great value, and if you're looking to get started with Dominion I'd absolutely recommend picking it up.
Dominion is the first "deck based" game I have played, and I am really enjoying it. Low barrier to entry as the concept is simple. Once the basic mechanics of the game are established, strategies can be learnt and developed as the game progresses.
The intrigue expansion in this edition adds interesting elements, which compliment the game really well. These extra cards encourage different strategies and get players out of their usual patterns of play.
With the many deck combinations possible, no two games play the same.
Highly recommend this edition! (They're not joking when it says "Big box" though. It is a bit comical. You'll need a larger games shelf to store this one. Well worth it though!)
